Alpha® Ceramica Metal Wet Polishing Discs
Alpha® Ceramica Metal is the latest technological advance in wet polishing discs for the stone industry. Built with the hardness of a metal-bond diamond inside a flexible resin-bond body, these discs combine aggressive cutting performance with the flexibility needed to reach internal corners, sink-hole rims, and other tight contours. Designed for harder natural stones such as granite — and equally effective on marble, porcelain, and concrete — Ceramica Metal delivers consistent performance and long life across the 60, 150, and 300 grit stages.

- Mount disc on a 3" or 4" flexible or rigid hook-and-loop backer pad matched to your polisher.
- Use a central water-feed wet polisher; ensure continuous water flow before contact.
- Operate at or below 4,000 RPM — do not exceed.
- Follow grit sequence 60 → 150 → 300; for finer finish continue with Ceramica Resin or Buff.
- Apply light, even pressure; let the diamond do the work. Use Flexible backer for contoured edges and Rigid backer for flat edges.
- Rinse pad and workpiece between grits to avoid cross-contamination.

What materials can I use the Alpha® Ceramica Metal on?
Alpha® Ceramica Metal is designed for all natural stones such as granite, marble, porcelain and concrete.
What sizes are Ceramica Metal offered in?
Alpha® Ceramica Metal discs are available in 3" and 4".
Why is the hook & loop colored?
Alpha® provides colored hook & loop material to help identify the grit of the disc. Ceramica Metal: Blue = 60 grit, Yellow = 150 grit, Orange = 300 grit.
What is the maximum RPM for Ceramica Metal?
Ceramica Metal should not exceed 4,000 RPM.
What tools should Ceramica Metal discs be used on?
Alpha® recommends central water-feed polishers such as the Alpha® AIR-680 and VSP-320.
What is the difference between Vitrified and Metal 150/300 grits?
Vitrified discs are the most aggressive of the Ceramica family and are best on convex surfaces such as bullnose edges. Ceramica Metal combines the flexibility of resin with the long life of metal bond and is suitable for concave and convex shapes such as ogee edges and internal corners.
What is the difference between Resin and Metal 150/300 grits?
Resin is the most common bond on the market today; Ceramica Metal lasts up to 6 times longer than a resin disc and outperforms resin in all aspects of light grinding and polishing.
Can I use Ceramica Metal dry?
No. Ceramica Metal discs are designed for wet applications only and perform best on wet polishers with central water-feed systems.
Can I use Ceramica Metal for breaking the surface of cured concrete?
Yes. Ceramica Metal can be used on concrete countertops and for breaking the surface of cured concrete; due to concrete’s aggressive nature, disc life may be shorter.
Which type of backer pad should I use with Ceramica Metal?
Use a Flexible backer pad for contoured surfaces and a Rigid backer pad for flat edges or surfaces.
Can I mix Vitrified and Metal grits in sequence?
Yes — you may mix bond types as long as you follow the grit sequence. Example: Ceramica Vitrified 60 → Ceramica Metal 150, or Ceramica Vitrified 150 → Ceramica Metal 300.
