Alpha® Diamond Face Foam Pads
Diamond Face Foam Pads from Alpha Professional Tools are engineered for both rotary and dual-action (DA) polishers, delivering reduced polish splash, lower heat build-up, and smoother handling on stone, ceramic and scratch-resistant surfaces. Each pad uses a Hook & Loop attachment and is available in 4", 6" and 7" diameters across four grit stages — Green T120 (high cutting), Yellow T80 (medium cutting), Black T20 (finishing/polishing) and Red T10 (finishing/finessing) — so you can move through the full polishing sequence with a consistent pad geometry.

- Mount a compatible Hook & Loop backer pad on your rotary or DA polisher (5/8"-11 spindle) and press the Diamond Face Foam Pad squarely onto the velcro face until fully seated.
- Start with the coarsest grit needed for the defect — Green T120 for cutting, Yellow T80 for medium cut, Black T20 to refine, finishing with Red T10 for the highest gloss.
- Apply a small amount of polish or compound directly to the diamond face. Tap the pad on the surface to spread the product before turning the machine on.
- Run the polisher at a low RPM (around 600–900) to spread product, then increase to a working speed (1,000–1,800 RPM rotary; 3,000–4,500 OPM DA) using light, even pressure.
- Work in overlapping passes on a section no larger than ~2 ft x 2 ft. Keep the pad flat — the diamond face does the work; let the machine do the polishing.
- Wipe residue with a clean microfiber towel and inspect under good light before stepping to the next finer grit.
- Rinse the pad with clean water during use to keep the diamond face clear; air-dry flat after the job. Replace once the diamond face is glazed or worn smooth.
