Alpha® Twincur EB Bullnose Edge Polishing Wheels

Alpha® Twincur EB (Engineered Stone / Bullnose) resin wheels are purpose-built for polishing straight and bullnose edges on engineered stone and quartz surfaces using automated edge polishing machines. Available in 4", 5", and 6" diameters with the industry-standard snail lock (SFAT) adapter, Twincur EB delivers fast, consistent results on both single-head and multi-head machines, with optional micro-oscillation enabling true straight-edge use.

How to Use

Mount the wheel on a 5" snail-lock adapter (SFAT-5/8) on your automated edge polisher.
4" wheels: operate at 3,400 RPM, 40 PSI, 100 ft/min traverse.
5" and 6" wheels: operate at 900–3,400 RPM (5") or 900–2,000 RPM (6"), 2.2–2.5 BAR, 12 in/min traverse.
LC-Series may be run up to 3.0 BAR.
Polish in sequence: #200 → #500 → #1000 → #2000 → #3000.
Run a dummy piece before and after the workpiece on multi-head lines to ensure full spindle contact at the start and end of the part.
Use wet processing only. Wheels are not for hand-held applications.
For true straight-edge or bevel polishing without micro-oscillation, use the Twincur ES series instead.

4" wheels run at 3,400 RPM. 5" and 6" wheels run between 900 and 3,400 RPM (6" capped at 2,000 RPM).

What is the recommended BAR / PSI pressure?

4" wheels: 40 PSI. 5" and 6" wheels: 2.2 to 2.5 BAR. LC-Series wheels: up to 3.0 BAR.

What is the recommended traverse speed?

4" wheels: 100 feet per minute. 5" and 6" wheels: 12 inches per minute (30.48 cm/min).

Why did my material not polish at the beginning and end on a multi-head polisher?

Belt speed may be too fast for the spindle heads to make contact at the start and end of the part. Run a dummy piece before and after the workpiece to ensure proper contact across the full surface.

Can Twincur EB be used on granite?

Yes, Twincur EB can polish granite, but it performs best on engineered stone / quartz.

Can I use Twincur EB for flat / straight edge polishing?

Only if your machine has a micro-oscillation feature. For true straight edge and bevel polishing, Alpha recommends the Twincur ES series.

Is there a break-in period?

No. Every Twincur EB wheel is calibrated and dressed at the factory and is ready to polish on first use.

How many polishing steps are there?

Five: #200, #500, #1000, #2000 and #3000.

How do I identify the grit on a wheel?

Alpha inserts a color ID plug in the back of each wheel: Yellow=200, Red=500, Dark Green=1000, Light Green=2000, Brown=3000.
