What does the BAB-CASM carriage assembly do?

The BAB-CASM is the moving carriage on the Alpha Beveling Base. It holds the spindle/grinder bracket and slides along the rails so you can produce a straight, repeatable bevel along the edge of stone.

Which Alpha beveling base is this part compatible with?

It is the OEM replacement carriage for the Alpha Beveling Base system (BAB). It is not designed for third-party bevelers. Always cross-check the part number BAB-CASM against your existing unit before ordering.

Is the BAB-CASM sold complete or do I need extra hardware?

It ships as the carriage assembly only. Rails, hand wheel, and the grinder/spindle clamp from your existing beveling base are reused. Bolts and bushings on the assembly are pre-installed.

How do I install the replacement carriage?

Unplug the grinder, remove the old carriage from the rails, transfer the grinder clamp if applicable, slide the new carriage onto the rails, and re-torque the rail-end stops. Test travel by hand before powering on.

What maintenance does the carriage need?

Wipe the rails clean of slurry at the end of each shift and apply a thin film of light machine oil. Avoid pressure-washing directly into the carriage bushings.
