Alpha® Elite Q Turbo Rim Wet/Dry Cutting Blade — Engineered Stone, Granite & Quartzite

The Alpha® Elite Q is the most versatile turbo-rim diamond blade in the Alpha countertop line, engineered specifically for engineered stone, granite and quartzite. The continuous turbo rim delivers consistently chip-free cuts on quartz, and the 7/8" Quad Drive arbor allows flush cutting on compatible Quad Drive machines. Alpha positions the Elite Q as the best cost-to-performance option for countertop fabricators and monument builders. Offered in 5" and 6" diameters with a 2.4 mm kerf for clean, low-loss cuts on both wet and dry tools.

Features

  • Turbo continuous rim — consistent, chip-free cuts on engineered stone, granite & quartzite
  • 7/8" Quad Drive arbor enables flush cutting on Quad Drive saws and grinders
  • Thin 2.4 mm kerf reduces material loss and motor load
  • Wet or dry use on 4-1/2"–5" angle grinders, stone cutters and small slab saws
  • Available in 5" (max 12,200 RPM) and 6" (max 10,100 RPM) diameters
  • Engineered for countertop fabrication and monument work
  • Best cost-to-performance blade in the Alpha countertop-blade lineup
Part No. Diameter Kerf Arbor Max RPM UPC
EGQ005 5" 2.4 mm 7/8" Quad Drive 12,200 RPM 749173462474
EGQ006 6" 2.4 mm 7/8" Quad Drive 10,100 RPM 749173462481
  1. Confirm the blade diameter matches your machine and that the machine’s no-load RPM is at or below the blade rating (5" / 12,200 RPM; 6" / 10,100 RPM).
  2. Mount the blade with the arrow on the blade following the direction of spindle rotation.
  3. For flush cutting, use a Quad Drive-compatible saw or grinder and seat the blade on the Quad Drive arbor.
  4. Wet cutting is preferred for engineered stone and quartzite — deliver clean water continuously at the blade.
  5. Dry cutting is acceptable for short cuts on granite when using a dust-shroud / vacuum setup such as Alpha Ecoguard.
  6. Use light, steady feed pressure — let the diamond do the cutting; forced feeding chips the edge and shortens blade life.
  7. Periodically dress the blade in an abrasive block if cutting slows; re-expose fresh diamond.

What materials is the Elite Q designed for?

Engineered stone (quartz), granite and quartzite. It is the most versatile blade in the Alpha countertop line for these three materials.

Wet or dry cutting?

Either, but wet is preferred for engineered stone and quartzite. Dry cutting is acceptable for shorter granite cuts when paired with an Alpha Ecoguard dust shroud and a HEPA vacuum.

What is the 7/8" Quad Drive arbor?

A four-keyed arbor pattern that engages Quad Drive saws and grinders so the blade can cut flush to a surface — useful for sink cutouts and on-site notching.

Which size do I need?

The 5" (EGQ005) fits standard 4-1/2"–5" angle grinders and small wet stone cutters. The 6" (EGQ006) gives extra depth of cut on slightly larger tools rated to 10,100 RPM.

What is the max safe RPM?

12,200 RPM for the 5" blade and 10,100 RPM for the 6" blade. Always confirm your machine’s no-load speed against the rating.

How does Elite Q compare to Eclipse Q?

Both are turbo-rim quartz blades. Elite Q is positioned as the best cost-to-performance option, while Eclipse Q is the premium-tier blade with longer life on heavy production.

Can I cut natural marble or porcelain panels with it?

The Elite Q is optimized for engineered stone, granite and quartzite. For thin porcelain panels use a dedicated panel blade such as the Alpha Katana or Laminam blade.

How do I get the longest blade life?

Run wet whenever possible, use light steady feed pressure, keep the cut straight (no twisting), and dress the blade in an abrasive block if it begins to glaze.
